SMBO (Trailquests) 2013 - Aberfoyle 30th March
Date Posted: 23.03hrs on Wed 13 Mar 13
Just in case anyone doesn't want a whole Easter weekend on the slopes.

In between skiing, taking pictures and stuff I've been knocking this up over the winter. First attempt course setting, it's a nice little area with a good mix of tracks and some rather nice views. Fortunately my co-orginiser is a dab hand at map making.

Quick reminder online entry closes on the 28th March 2013. Aberfoyle has missed a lot of the recent snow, what there was has now melted in and around the village. Dusting on some of the higher tracks but trails should be mostly clear higher up. Some photos on the facebook page showing conditions:

Entry still open - just, trail conditions good (fast). Snow on the mountains not on the forest trails, as it should be.

The results:

The routegadet with instructions lifted from SMBO facebook page:

RouteGadget is now up and running for the Aberfoyle event.

The link to the SMBO RouteGadget site is:

No username or password needed.

Then select the Aberfoyle 2013 event.

You should get the map. If you don’t, it is probably a Java problem.

Then on the right hand pane, select Score(1) on the “choose class/score” pull down. Click on a competitor name and then click “View Routes” at the bottom of the page. You should see your/their route as a set of
straight lines between the controls. Note it doesn’t draw the last leg from final control to end.
