I wouldn't rule out snow on the East Coast before Easter hols. - Current trend is for sharp cooldown after Sunday, with return to more typical March/April temperatures for a period. Showers too, which could fall as snow on hills.

Definitely wax the skis...but don't put them up in the loft just yet. smiling smiley

and then some of this for that weekend although a little less windy would be great!!

Alot of the ensembles are still all over the place but the great news is is that while there may b a 10c temp range nearly all of them are sub 0c and down to -10c!!!

Instead of thinking about storing the skis, why not get out and use them. Every open lift is ski straight on to, the weather is fine and settled with light winds. People complained about the hordes earlier in the season, well knows the chance to knock up a stupid amount of sliding mileage.

UK Outlook for Monday 23 Mar 2009 to Wednesday 1 Apr 2009:

On Monday southern and central areas will be dry and bright but cloud and rain, followed by showers, will spread southwards to reach all but the far south by Tuesday evening. By this time the air will have become cold enough for the showers to turn to snow to low levels, and there may be some significant accumulations of snow on the higher ground in the north during Tuesday and Wednesday. There is also a risk of gales in the north. Thursday looks likely to be drier and brighter but cloud and rain, with snow on northern hills, is expected to return on Friday. We can then expect mainly unsettled conditions going into the following week, with generally below average temperatures bringing a continuing risk of snow to higher ground.

Why all the doom and gloom.I have just seen the Met Office forecast for next Week. Snow to low levels on Tuesday and significant snow higher up for the rest of the week....As long as the base remains should save the year!

haha, winking smiley what i had in mind was finding a quiet wee slope and practising the kick turns. If it turns into sliding i`m all for it.

^.^just my way of tempting the snow out if I fool it into thinking I`m putting my skis away.

As is often the case with the blocking high sitting on us, these blocks are harder to shift than the models predict. Once again this evening subsequent runs push the breakdown to cooler unsettled conditions back. Will it all change again by morning?
