Is it worth traveling up from Newcastle to Glenshee tomorrow.
Date Posted: 22.18hrs on Mon 26 Feb 18
I have an unexpected day off and am wondering how bad the roads will get tomorrow? Is it worth traveling up to Glenshee or will one of the other centres be better. Glenshee is closest and quickest followed by Coe then Gorm. Any advice appreciated I know it’s up to the weather gods in the end.

I’d say the biggest unknown will be the state of the roads between
Newcastle and Perth with the showers coming in tonight.
A93 should be ok by late morning. Prospect
of freshies, quiet lifts and decent overhead in the pm.
Good luck if you decide to risk it for a biscuit!

Glad things worked out for a worthwhile slide today - good effort from Newcastle in a day.
Hope things weren't too perilous heading back south tonight!
It's probably going to be tricky for folk getting up to Glenshee
and the Lecht for the rest of this week.

It took about 5 hours, south of berwick the A1 has about 3” of snow lying on parts of the road. I have a 4x4 van but with only all weather tyres on so was ok up hills but trying to stop was more difficult. I can’t wait to see what the ski areas look like after this weeek. Hopefully the snow won’t all blow away and I can come back up next week.
