Hi

Can anyone recommend any hotels to stay while skiing in Scotland, nevis range or glencoe. I have no idea what's near the slopes.

Thanks
Sarah

Glencoe have the micro lodges at the base station. Some of the hotels close to Glencoe are the Kinghouse, the Isle of Glencoe hotel, and the Glencoe Inn. The Best Western at Crianlarich is ~30- mins drive from Glencoe but you may drive pass this on your way up

I'm pretty sure there is a list on the Glencoe web site

Don't really know what's close to Nevis, I am sure someone else will chip in.

Loads of places to stay in Fort William for Nevis Range. Dont tend to stay in hotels myself, Calluna is a very good self catering hostel though.

Fort William has quite a few hotels, check Trip Advisor and just search Fort William. Nevis Range is only 6 miles from Fort William. If your looking for a chain hotel, there is a Premier Inn.

There’s also Torlundy House ( B&B ) is 3 miles from Nevis (www.torlundy.co.uk) and also Castle Hotel in Torlundy.

Fort William will have more nightlife though (Pubs and one nightclub I believe)

If you're looking for a fun night, the Clachaig in Glencoe offers the closest thing to Apres Ski in the West. Rooms a bit pricey for the quality but the atmosphere/entertainment in the bar more than makes up for it. Food is reasonable pub fare. Bookable online, I think. 10-15mins drive from here to Glencoe Mountain, approx 40mins to Nevis Range.

micro lodges at glencoe look good and there's the cafe for food/beers with nice stove, pool table and open till about 10 (i think). It's nice to wake up and be on the slopes!.
depends on your budget and how far you want to drive. Fort william has loads of band b and hotels - distillery apartments are good value.

I stay at the SYHA in Glencoe and walk to the Clachaig when I'm over that way. There is a new path way thats been cut to the side of the road now so no more drunken staggers back to the hostel along the road!

There's a whole host of accommodation alongside the A82 between Glencoe Village and Corran Ferry - such a location is a good one for hedging bets on Glencoe or Nevis Range.

At this time of year there can be some great late offers available in and around Fort William, so worth checking the likes of Laterooms. Managed to get a £22 room including cooked breakfast in the Caledonian Hotel tonight! It had these offers with £19 to £29 single rooms with breakfast a good chunk of Jan - March period last year, so keep an eye on it!

The above and...

- Bridge of Orchy Hotel
- Inverardran Guest House, Crianlarich
- Ben More Lodge, Crianlarich
- Several places in Tyndrum too

For Glencoe, or for a stop-over the night before you head to Glencoe then carry onwards towards ft bill.

From personal experience I can recommend the Isles of Glencoe (you can often get a cheap deal on 5pm.co.uk or similar - we got DB&B for 2 for £69), and also the Independent Hostel in Glencoe - which as a really good budget option I'd prefer to the SYHA. www.hostel-scotland.co.uk.

SYHA Glencoe is just off the A82 and a nice stroll away from the Clachaig Pub for a great night out. It's about 20 minutes to Glencoe Ski Resort from the hostel. Dorm beds £18 & Twin rooms £56.

SYHA Glen Nevis is a few miles off the A82 outside of Ft William up the road on the way to Ben Nevis. It's also about 20 minutes to Nevis Range from the hostel. Dorm beds £19 & Twin rooms £50.

Both have great self catering facilities & most importantly... drying rooms!!
Hope this helps!
