We should see the Harrier spin more often, we haven't seen it used since 2016 although it is scheduled for tomorrow.

I checked on the cams at lunchtime today, no sign that buzzard, flacon or harrier tows running.
Puts me off going to lecht midweek, I know it will be quieter, but then get bored of skiing grouse and eagle.

Falcon did run today, not sure when it came on though and not many using it.

I've never ridden the Harrier, despite having been at the Lecht on days when it could have run. I have skied the runs though and walked back up the the Falcon.

What get's me is that the arrangement of the Falcon and the Harrier means that you can ski down to the Harrier from the base of the Falcon, so if it's only economic to run one of the two, why is it always the Falcon that runs not the Harrier?

1-Falcon is easier to get to
2-Falcon catches more snow
3-Harrier needs fixing

Midweek at the Lecht = Eagle + Chairlift, others will open 'subject to demand' - translates to: we will open the Buzzard for an hour late afternoon but still charge you for a full price full area ticket. Falcon and Harrior - forget it...

Weekend at the Lecht = most runs will open. Translates to Eagle + Chairlift. Buzzard will open mid morning and if you are lucky the falcon may open late afternoon but will be pisted like a ploughed field. We will still charge full price for a lift pass.

Imagine the response if other ski areas operated like this - enough snow to open all the terrain but only open lifts to access less than half of it (but charge full price)

Lecht seem to take the "opening subject to demand" approach to a entirely different level than the other ski centres.

It's different if the weather has been poor overnight and storm recovery is required...but this is often not the case. Waiting till midday to open the Falcon/Buzzard is the reason I rarely ski the Lecht. Could you imagine Nevis or Glencoe waiting until midday to open the Goose / Main Basin (without a valid reason)

Great to see the Harrier run and make it's seasons debut and run for the first time since March 2016

Now this isn't a bash at the Lecht as I've had more days skiing this due to a move and all have been at the Lecht.

However, why has it taken a 'showcase' day with media, British Snowport endorsement and massive advertising push to open the harrier. I'm not a season ticket holder yet, but I'm pretty sure the cost of a day ticket merits running the harrier even if it's just at weekends!
