there might as well be no snow

We might as well have no snow with the amount of times the centres are closed due to wind

well not really, but point taken especially if you can only get weekends off.

People with more flexibility probably think this is a good season. For me it has been 3 days so far. Hopefully get another 6 or 7. March could be good of the wind would just GTF.

But the wind will calm down, then we'll be left with snow. Which will be much better than March 2012!

Not just weekends that have been the issue...What ever day we've pencilled in going up (600 mile round trip so weather has to be better than marginal) over the last 6 wks or so hasn't materialised due to the weather. Next Thursday is a possibility - but (after a promising forecast up until yesterday) is now looking distinctly windy...

Try going to Glenshee...I think they have been open most days. Cheapest day ticket, most lifts, biggest area. If it's too windy for them nowhere else will be open.

Glenshee always gets the windy vote. Forecast = windy = go to Glenshee

At Glenshee yesterday it was £20 for a day ticket with limited uplift (Beginners area, Butcharts Poma, Claybokie and as far as Cluny on the other side. Very reasonable.

Just clocked day 26 at Glenshee only 10 of those mid-week, so wind has not restricted options for me compared to last season, some just can't handle the non-blue bird days

Tallpall...you May as we'll just not try and take up sea kayaking, heard its nice in Shetland for that stuff

I was at glenshee today too, pity the weather was a bit poor at the top of glas moal, and they need a wee top up of snow down near the roadside runs, but still a cracking day on the slopes.

Good day at glenshee for me on Sunday, first day there for ages. I'm knackered today as bar a short period in the morning when there was a double queue for the Glas Maol poma it was ski on to each lift with little or no wait, and practically the whole area was open.

Weather was a bit poor with some rain and then snow when we left at the end of the day and mist on the tops, but the skiing was good even if the snow was a little sticky. It was melting rapidly when we arrived with the runoff causing problems (like at the café at the top of the plastic slope), but it seemed better (ie less run off at the end of the day)

very true, but in my case i can handle s***y non-bluebird days fine, i'm just getting sick to the back teeth of them! i used to be totally obsessive about getting up every day i could whatever the weather, but i'm just not feeling that this year. Crossing fingers the weather lightens up a bit so i can get some enthusiasm back, i've always preferred spring riding anyway.
