lochnagar snow level
Date Posted: 18.44hrs on Mon 3 Mar 14
anyone been up lochnagar area recently thinking about some touring tomorrow probably up to dubh loch if the cloudbase is lower than forecast or up onto lochnagar itself. is there snow down to car park level or is it still hovering about the 600m mark ?.
Looking at the Braemar snow gate webcam, there's no snow on the 500m-ish hill in the background. So I'd guess no snow at Glenmuick, as it's 100m or so lower and not too far away.

Hi Davy. You'll definitely have a carry from Glas-Alt-Shiel. Top of the waterfalls and you'll get ski's on and probably somewhere about 30 mins carry towards Dubh Loch.Still excellent cover on top. Quickest place to get ski's on is around Glenshee area.

cheers guys gave it a bash this morning wet snow/slush down to car park level. skinned a short way along the landrover track weather wasn't up to much so turned back and went to glenshee instead. weather improved greatly in the afternoon though with sun and blue skys. just one of my typical days this winter with weather.
