having just seen the lochaber SAIS pics from their sesh on the goose, it's safe to say anticipatory smiling can begin. ooooh yeah.
little bit jealous of their turns mind you, but i suppose it's fair reward.

Today was excellent. Great snow summit to gondola. Far West was the run of the day.

Went to Nevis for the first time today and boy did I enjoy myself, Busy but the queues never lasted long and the snow and runs were great, I will be back again that is for sure. Never ventured onto the summit as the visibillity looked poor, Loved the goose gully.

smiles all around, except for the poor liftie on the chairlift.
maybe some 'merge into groups of 4' signs or a fill-in singles line, would help with his quest. or a cattleprod.

the summit runs were ok, certainly in the afternoon. nice dry compacted snow on sidewinder.

Poor man must have been hoarse after that shift. Still, he kept the queue to an absolute minimum, despite all the cat herding. Good job.

Aye the lifty on the chairlift and the goose T bar were doing a sterling job of trying to fill every seat or bar. It was working because the queues never took long to move along I dont think I waited more than 5 minutes when up the hill. Was well impressed.

Lots of new snow at Nevis Range overnight, some pics up on the Facebook page show the hill has recovered well from Tuesday's thaw.

With some more snow in the forecast and a northerly wind due it could be a good weekend, perhaps 'the' place to be.

Cheap tickets on Sunday too: [snowsports.nevisrange.co.uk]

Cracking day at Nevis today! No queue for the gondola, £12.50 lift pass, no more than a 5 minute wait on the hill and fantastic cover. No wind, great vis (except Rob Roys which was pretty flat), lots of corduroy from their fancy new Pistenbully!
Great day!

And to top it off, throw back to the 80's in Snowgoose!

it was a pretty good day. the goose is filling in a bit more, and all the new snow that got tracked-out within about 30 seconds of opening will groom up very nicely this week.

Awesome day up Nevis Range yesterday, 1600 people on the hill taking advantage of great snow conditions but as usual queues were minimal. Unlike the other resorts Nevis was not scoured by the wind so there is a ride anywhere blanket of powdery snow to enjoy, just watch out for rocks lurking under the powder!

Pics look tasty and good to see a decent turnout.thumbs up

It's a bit early I know but any news re Braveheart, presume its not needing dug out at least but would be good to see it coming on to coincide with mid Feb peak ski season. Hope over realism but it is really damn good when it opens in helping to serve up the goodies! smiling smiley

Freeheel, I dropped Chancer a couple of times Sunday and can confirm there are NO chairs on the line at the moment but that may change?
There was also no boxes or T-bars on Warrens on Sunday either !!

BUT...... Monday they were fitting boxes and T-bars to Warrens and had a good few on by end of play and the motor was running and cable turning and with this calm weather now it might be going before the weekend ?

They may move on to Braveheart straight after as there is a fair bit of snow down there and if folk know its running its a big draw for the punters.
Keep the fingers crossed on that one.

On the front there is loads of snow and the quality of pisting seems to have improved greatly this season which will be a big PLUS for the holiday skiers.

With the Jan storms we had it was possibly a good idea to have left the cables bare till now as it prevents damage etc, looks like its time to get the rewards .
