Nice day on the hill, bright and sunny and little in the way of Q's of any sort.

Snow on the front of the hill was well pisted and all runs very wide with soft-ish snow and odd icy bit to keep you on your edges.

Snow on the back was not so nice with Summit gully sporting breakable crust for much of its length although getting out was a dawdle with Rob Roy to traverse round to it only req about 30 mtr ascent all in so skoosh case .

Coire Dubh had similar snow with some icy bits mixed with breakable crust and skier mashed crust, some entrances formed into long ramps with Chancer probably having the cleanest entrance apart from Wingers which you can just roll in, def best snow is on the front just now.

Warrens has T-bars fitted now but still shows no sign of turning in anger.

Alt Sneachda below the Goose drive has formed a nice half pipe and was providing good sport for skiers and boarders alike. Similar, but a good bit wider above the Goose drive !

Never skied Warrens today so dunno what it was like, think the both Nid wall and ridge are best avoided as scoured and icy, bottom of the wall is fairly bullit proof for sure top likely to be worse.

All in great day and back in the morning

Spikes was 'interesting' today too, and with its glaze and crust the whole way down, it was an ego bruiser and leg killer. The Goose (esp. skiers right close to the burn line) was in great condition and it restored my faith.

Coupla pics from this weekend, one of two different halves, firm Sat and soggy Sunday, getting a bit slushy below the quad today with a lot of moisture in the air.
Run of the day I guess was Warrens but the Goose and chair runs providing good sport too, not tempted over the back due to poor light today pic from the bottom of Braveheart from Sat.

Brokenheart............ but time will mend it !!!!!!!!!

Pistebasher made a couple of trips round to Braveheart at the weekend......that usually means diesel is being delivered, chairs will go on and the fun will follow........at some point.

A nice-ish day of varying vis, had a few on the front on snow of firm and very firm snow before heading round to Summit gully when the vis suddenly got worse and a wait for a clear spell developed before dropping in on somewhat softer snow.
The afternoon was on softening snow on the front with some small bumps developing below the quad late PM.

Coupla pics below one of Filip doing a 30 mtr climb before a traverse out to the bottom of Rob roy, One of climbers descending into Easy gully ( skiers shall reclaim it in a week or 2) and one of the chairs being de-iced before being fitted to Braveheart which had diesel brought round by PB last weekend and I am assured its currently running well.

Strangely not a busy day despite being mid term .

Ricky, thanks for the spot on updates as always thumbs up snow forecast is suggesting return of winter shortly with 1/2m like falls but unfortunately accompanied by gale force winds.

Any news of descents on the west side at all? eye popping smiley

Fair amount of fresh snow visible on the hill today with plenty snow showers coming through all day...... and lots more to come so should have freshened things up a good bit.

Freeheel , I have not heard of the west face being skied yet but may have been done ? The bottom end of the gullies could have been sketchy a lot of the season so far but things look to be improving as you noted above .

Cheers .

Lots of fresh snow in the west, in stark contrast to the east.

Latest video report from Nevis Range gives a good idea of the conditions and it looks well worth the effort to get up there on Saturday:

Aye Marions report above along with the positive forecast for Sat makes it look like it may be one of the best days this season so far at least.

Also viewed from below there is lots more snow and more coming.

See ya there !

Absolutely epic day on the hill today with fresh powder on the Goose. Perfect dry snow... a delight to ski.

Unfortunately the backs were pretty loaded and dangerous with soft cornice so remained closed... until about 2.30 when the cornice was blasted at Wingers wall and more fresh powder could be accessed and it was a good bit deeper than the Goose too at easily 2ft and more at the lower end.

Warrens was pretty good too nice powder lines to be had but also a couple of scoured patches too keep you alert. The tow was being worked on de-icing today but not running yet.

Braveheart still has no chairs fitted probably due to poor weather during the week but fingers still crossed.

Few pics fae roon the back attached below

I'll second the comments about the conditions below Wingers Wall... it was pretty special today!
