Just looking across to skiers' right of Caenlochan looks very bare. There's been talk of holding the SSBX in Butchart's but I'd be surprised if even that happens. Yes, Glenshee needs more snow and less rain!!

Just keep skiing, just keep skiing. What do we do? We ski!

stopped caenlochan as it blew returning poma into towers and snapped the poma...this resulted in corrie fionn being inaccessible although in great shape for those dozen or so who got there before caenlochan shut

What do you mean by the above statement? Are you talking structural failure or just one hanger dropping off?

I initially assumed you were exaggerating, but just seen tomorrow's report showing Caenlochan as shut.

Even I can't believe they are thick enough to let the same poma fall down twice in a few years but if it's just a hanger, and it's shut tomorrow, perhaps it's knackered the rope?

Be grateful if you could provide more detail please.

I think it's just the report hasn't updated since yesterday. Notice Coire Fionn is still scheduled.

not really...still good snow on the other aspects. Also, i've had more sunny days this season so far than the whole of last season , east and west. Disappointing would be no snow at all. We need to get real - we live on an island in the atlantic where snow is always going to be marginal. I started skiing glenshee in the 80's so I can always remember worse years!.
Still plenty time left this season.

Winter is about to hit a wall...

"A substantial thaw on all mountain areas Tuesday to Wednesday night will lead to considerable snow loss."

'There will be a series of freeze thaw cycles on all mountain
areas, but particularly over the Scottish Highlands, on balance snow is likely to accumulate over the period - particularly
toward the west'.

Took a few hours up on Friday... whatever the weather man says can be pretty well ignored as conditions, snow and weather were all dramatically improved over earlier in the week. Given the consolidated base, the small dustings of snow have significantly improved the skiing since mid-week.

I posted a report with some pic's but had a really enjoyable ski session on Friday. Looking out of the window, Saturday is looking good too. More snow is expected Sun/Mon from the scuttlebutt.

All the best - BraemarBob

80% sure Met Office will fuck-up the forecast for Sunday/Monday? They usually do...

Well, things are looking good from the look of the ground around the webcam and the snowgate cam. Heavy snow is still forecast all week with a slight break in the cloud Wednesday and a little rain on Wednesday night. Looks very promising!

Just keep skiing, just keep skiing. What do we do? We ski!

Looking good up there.

You can't see much just now but the webcam at the top of 'the slide' is now - at long last - available to the public.

Hopefully one to follow at the gates.

Went up for a sneaky hour when the blue sky broke through about 1pm. Snow cover is vastly improved but only Claybokie was open. They were working away on Sunnyside which looked full-to-bustin' with gorgeous looking snow. Very limited right now but has the potential to be stunning tomorrow depending how much recovery gets done, and accuracy of weather forecast [a-hem].

No report as the Camera went dead [cold/windy] as soon as I started skiing despite supposedly having 63% charge.

Best to all - Bob

Disappointing!
