Quad Chair Uplift Sat 25 April
Date Posted: 09.26hrs on Wed 22 Apr 15
We (Nevis Range) are wanting to gauge interest on running the Quad Chair (uplift only) this Saturday 25 April from 10.30 to 12.30. Aimed at those that want to go ski mountaineering in the backs so uplift only. Nothing will be pisted, no patrol etc. so must be self sufficient and have the right equipment/check conditions etc. Cost would be £14 including the gondola (£12 gondola / £2 uplift). Gondola opens from 10am to last one down at 5.15pm. Subject to weather conditions of course but not looking too bad at present. We will make a decision on this lunchtime Thursday.

Thanks for that Nevis Range ! A bit of progressive thinking there !

IE.....Have a Chairlift.....and use it......unlike another Ski Area !!!

might be tempted but depends if the snow turns rock solid with the predicted colder forecast.

I'm not interested, but only because I'm not free, otherwise I'd say great idea. For anyone vaguely interested I would say that conditions in the backs, Aonach Beag, CMD, and further afield all very good and the chair would offer good options - but you probably knew that already.

Like Andy, hope the weather is OK and spring conditions persist, and there is a decent turnout for you to get the chair running - try posting in the british backcountry group on facebook if you haven't already as you'd likely get some interest there.

Great idea and thanks for posting here on it. I may be up for it, depending on the forecast. Are season passes not valid for this?

Thanks to all for the feedback regarding the running of the quad chair this weekend. It is going to go ahead on both days - Saturday 25 April & Sunday 26 April from 10.30 to 12.30 - subject to weather conditions on the day. Aimed at those that want to go ski mountaineering in the backs so uplift only. Nothing will be pisted, no patrol etc. so must be self sufficient and have the right equipment/check conditions etc. Cost would be £14 including the gondola (£12 gondola / £2 uplift / Season tickets are valid for this ). Gondola opens from 10am to last one down at 5.15pm.
