Lowest snow patch
Date Posted: 11.26hrs on Mon 15 Jun 15
At this time of year it is always interesting to know where the lowest snow patch is. Perhaps it would be interesting to record the lowest snow patch at the end of June each year?
My two candidates from a trip this weekend (14th June) are 530m just above the corrie loch of An Teallach (but might not last until end of June) and a larger patch on Beinn Liath Bheag (on left of road just past Loch Glascarnoch). Harder to estimate the height, but perhaps 550m.
Incidentally Ben Alder looked loaded with snow but too far away to estimate heights.
I'm sure someone can beat these.

I think this is a very interesting idea, but because of the volume of snow that exists I think it would be almost impossible to pin down which is the lowest.
