Weekends can be rather lively until the small hours. Assuming you want some kip, pack ear plugs or camp well away from the circle of camper vans...

Tremendous last weekend. Clear skies, no queue, perfect spring conditions.

This coming weekend looks like temperatures will drop a little, wind to pick up from the SW bringing more snow.
Bring it on!!!!

Turned into a decent day at Glencoe with surface conditions much better than many were expecting on the way up in the morning. Where the base remained firm high up, it was mostly grippy rather than icy, but the odd harder area at the top. Off the groomers might be a bit rattly first thing, depending how many of the snow showers reach overnight (between 1-3 inches indicated by the various mesoscale models).

Mid mountain and on the Plateau things softened up just enough to give nice forgiving surface conditions without the new snow getting sticky.

Forecast is looking good for Monday with light and variable winds, decent Sunny Spells, though a risk of a slow moving snow shower - these will be rather hit or miss, but if you are under one it might hang around a bit in the light winds.

Photos from Sunday in the Pix from the Slopes:

^Looking up from the Plateau Poma. All Plateau Runs still complete through some narrow sections by the Poma.

^Upper Main Basin - the run is wide with the Haggis Trap still filled flat.

^Early bird will catch the corduroy worm on Monday!

Cracking day at the Coe today. Fresh powder lines for a few hours in the morning followed by sunshine and grippy snow for the rest of the day. Definately one of the best days this season.
Was there not some fool whinging about doomsday on another thread? Bet he feels like a complete plonker now!

Had to post a note to thank Andy and all the Glencoe team for a great day skiing on Thursday. First time at Glencoe since 2010 and what a difference in the feel of the place. It's really improved very tangibly with all the investment and hard work. I really liked the balance of groomed and ungroomed and you could really sense that everyone there wants to make the best of whatever the conditions allow - for example, running the Rannoch at the first sign of wait on the Tbar. Fantastic!

Happy valley great for flattering turns and the Spring Rum was sublime. Also, there seemed to be a healthy number of people enjoying the good late season conditions. Hope it's been a good year for you, numbers wise Andy?

Had to leave early afternoon for the long drive home, but we wouldn't have missed the time we had, especially during the odd break in the murk! We will spread the word down here in England and we will be back.

Michael

Indeed the Coe has come a long way since 2010. Reminds me of some of the press back then [www.scotsman.com]
