Better bring earplugs for the 'Coe cafe then - it's the most played tune on the jukebox! (Not by me I hasten to add).

We appear to be experiencing a slight technical issue with the mostly dry part of last nights forecast update. The TV screens automated GFS derived forecast is showing as a nice Sun, but someone upstairs has left a tap running!

On the plus side snow is loosening up across the mountain into great granular spring snow. If the Sun does reappear it will be a cracker, so if you in range get up for an afternoon slide.

The morning showers cleared quite quickly to give another fantastic Spring day on the slopes of Meall a' Bhuiridh with the snow loosening up to great granular spring snow all the way to the Summit. So lots of fun steep lines around the mountain for more advanced skiers and boarders.

The Plateau Poma is still running for access, but please don't ski / ride (or walk) down the uptrack, as that will shorten it's life! Best way down is Old Mugs Alley onto the Plateau track at the base of the Coire Pollach Tow, from where it's a 4-6 minute downhill stroll to the Access Chair.

^Steep Spring snow on the Flypaper.

^Main Basin still wide with deep cover, flat through the Haggis Trap - but there's lots more interesting terrain features elsewhere on the hill if you are missing the Haggis Trap! Try the Canyon's Bum-hole, Thrombosis gully or the Wall Crossover.

That's a bit selfish though, cable cutters would be better for saving other folks ears too, I've no seen mine since last night!

Al,

excellent reporting. That picture of the ski patrollers on the Flypaper is a real winning shot - well done.

That's a cracking photo of the Flypaper. smiling smiley

@igloo4you

A few of us will be heading up to Glencoe on Saturday. Due to work, I can't manage this week but next week would be fine. Hoping it's not going to be the end of the season come Monday. Would you consider staying open (especially with all this new snow) next week too, or even just at weekends?

Cheers

Jonny

Is the Wall draglift finished for the season (track broken)? Or just not working at the moment?

Just that I'm not keen on the uphill walk from the Cliffy!!

Cheers!

JC Monday 2nd May is last day, got MacAvalanche the next weekend and over 200 competitors so they will need all uplift.
Mountainaddict, Wall T-bar has a fault, it's only a 30 or 40 meter walk from Cliffy to Main Basin T-bar, surely you can manage that.

The walk from the top of the Cliffy Chair to the Main Basin is c. 40m with 3m of height gain - about the same as from an average spot in the car park to the access chair. Those struggling to walk that distance and height would never get out of their vehicles!

You don't seem to be having much luck with the mid-mountain up lift this season. Good thing the Cliffy is back on line!

I take it the may 2nd close down is due to running out of customers not snow? I had been wondering if a may slide was worth considering, but I can't make the bank holiday weekend.

Completely, lots of snow but customer numbers this week have been lower than staff numbers. Wall could run if we had the numbers but with only 2 or 3 people using it a day Cliffy can easily take the load.
