Yad moss sneaked first lift served this year. Fairly challenging conditions but nice to get the skis on again pics and report on the public page.

Congratulations!

I'm intrigued by this reference in the report:

Also the wet snow tended to stick to the piste badger so plenty of bare patches.

Is the piste badger a new form of environmentally friendly piste preparer? Or perhaps it's the snow sport equivalent of the Roomba.

As a snowweasel, I know those snow badgers can be tricky to spot!

Dredging this thread up - there have been some good conditions this past week with tows running at all the club sites AFAIK and great weather at times. I've been restricted to some "touring" - good conditions on some of the estate/forest/old rail tracks for those of an XC persuasion, and had a short skive off to the top of the old Teesdale ski area (Three Pikes) and the top of Chapel Fell (above Weardale club tows) in glorious weather on Monday afternoon - both out and back from the top of the St John's - Langdon Beck road. Both days snow quality was great, more of it on Monday than the weekend though more wind effected (not always a bad thing). Freezing level has shot up today but fingers crossed Thursday may see a return of good conditions. Definitely worth getting out if that is the case.
