CairnGorm Mountain Ltd have put next season's season passes on sale and you need to buy this month for the lowest price, as it increases each month through to full price in November.

AIUI season passes are valid from date of purchase, which means if you had a pass last season, you will have two valid passes for this summer. In which case if you bring both passes to the ticket office over the summer, a comp ticket will be issued for an accompanying guest.

Very interesting, so I have to find £644 for the two of us in the next couple of weeks to get the best price. Nice for the advance warning Cairgorm, I will put my hand down the back of the couch and pull out some loose change!

And how do you actually buy these tickets? There is nothing on the website, only summer tickets. Do we have to know a hidden page link?

this scheme might just shoot them in the foot...with priority for cash to go on summer activities and holidays to find your season ticket monies before autumn without forward warning seems precarious

Oofffft : Remarkable step change in price.
£400+ is considerably more than a season for Coe / Nevis or Shee!?

Must be struggling with short term cash flow ?
That is an incredibly cynical cash grab by Natural Retreats.
Pi$$ing off your most loyal customers not a good idea.
No mention of the sliding scale on their web site either (.... sneaky if true as doesn't seem to have been well publicised).

Thanks for the link Doug. I still cant find how to link to it from their home page so unless you know how to direct link to season ticket no one will know.

Edit

Just got an email from CG with the details and an FAQ

Why would you buy a young child's season pass for £10 when they get to ski for free?

For the 2015/2016 it was £520 if it was your first All Area Pass or £465 if you had a 2014/2015 All Area Pass

Anyone who was budgeting for an early bird season ticket purchase in September has now found that they will require to pay £402 if making the purchase at that time. That is £87 more than would have been paid in September 2015, an increase of almost 28%.
Providing faithful and loyal customers with 2 weeks notice with respect to obtaining the cheapest early bird discount for next season......at a time when individuals and families are budgeting for summer holidays.....is quite ridiculous and is a huge own goal.
As said above, an incredibly cynical cash grab which has added much weight to the negativity surrounding this business.
The downward spiral continues.

Kind regards

The off peak senior pass looks very poor value, a mere ~£40 discount but with 6 weeks of exclusions plus weekends.

Wasn't it previously a 20% discount on any day passes bought for friends? This might have been a few years ago but it was a decent incentive.

Seems like the business is being run by accountants, visitor numbers are down so you decide to charge the remaining ones more. It's a downward spiral.

It was previously 20% of an unlimited number of tickets, but that was reduced to a 10% discount for the 15/16 season - but could be used repeatedly. It is unclear if the 5 passes is a restriction per day/transaction or for the season, if the later then it's a further significant reduction in season pass benefit.

CML have announced a £1 increase in day tickets for both adults and junior passes, being £36 and £22 respectively for the 2016/17 season. However the mid-week ticket announced with some fanfare just before Easter is not included on the updated snowsports price page.

Now that it's RFID are they any nearer to allowing you to top up or buy day tickets online? Even a few automated kiosks would surely be an improvement?
