Glencoe Snow 2017
Date Posted: 08.48hrs on Tue 18 Oct 16
So it begins....

If this had happened last year sure a couple of turns could have been hacked out of a grassy patch of Happy Valley that would have claimed a full calendar year of skiing of Meall a' Bhuiridh!

The middle weather station only has a thermometer at the moment, the occasional other random values might be caused by electrical interference being picked up when there is no actual data signal to override it.

Looks like plenty of snow dropped today. Spied this pic from their Instagram so hope they don't mind posting it up here.

Also, looking at the Altnafeadh traffic cam there is still plenty coming down too! Fingers crossed!

Shaping up well. But some abrupt leg breaking wind ridges on the plateau run.
Will make for interesting running.

As mentioned above the Access Chair will be open Saturday and Sunday and the forecast is good. So if you fancy playing in the snow, going for a sledge or a wee pre-season tour then it looks worth a trip - light winds, Sunny Spells and just the occasional snow flurry. Possibly some spectacular inversion conditions / views too from the top.
