I'm hoping to head up the Lecht tomorrow after work for a wee play on my new splitboard. Well it's a year old but never saw action last season....

So,

Given the rising temperatures and the wind at the weekend, is the Lecht going to be worth the drive from Stirling? It looks to be the area with the most open, and possibly less wind/rain affected than the rest on Saturday, and with the best overhead. Wouldn't be my usual choice due to tame terrain, but its the 1st ski of the season - and will be fine for getting the ski-legs back!

Who was up today (Friday) ?

Nigel

The forecast wind speeds are putting me off going on Saturday and I'm not confident the runs will still be white on Sunday.

I'm going to take a rain check on it tomorrow and see how the webcams/forecast looks tomorrow afternoon.

There was ample snow up there today and we don't think it will melt too quickly but Saturday looks the best if the wind doesn't stop the tows.It will be our fancy this weekend. Also Alan we sent you an email with pictures for the pix

Sunday morning was pretty bulletproof to begin with, slowly softening up in the afternoon. At this stage in the season, no one is going to complain about a thaw/freeze cycle to get a base in place.

A lot of the cosmetic snow in between the runs has disappeared and the beginners area was pretty sparse. However the Eagle, Osprey and Grouse runs all had good snow between the fences.

Was up there today and Despite scouring at the tops there was great sliding to be had. Hopefully there should be more of a beginners area tomorrow as there was snowmaking going on as we were leaving. Will put up a public report with photos later on.
