Just a quick question as have looked on their website...where is the "authorised" skinning track up on either side of the car park for us tourers....as I don't want to have problems..like I did at Glenshee & having never skinned at lecht

Might be looking to do something very easy...as recovering from operation...

Not sure but the staff are quite friendly so if you stick to the sides of the piste so you should be ok

I didn't know there was one. But I skinned up around the bike track area a few weeks ago. No-one bothered me. I think they're pretty easy-going at the Lecht. Just show respect, don't endanger anyone, and use common sense. Have a good day.

i often park South of the lecht, approx 1km at the 644m spotheight.
there is a small buidling just up the hill from the road there.
but usually need a 4x4 to park in the layby there or entrance to track if there is snow.
then i skin up the ridge to top of Buzzard on the East side

but this isnt such a good spot if you want to ski West to Carn Ealasaid...

Went up on Monday for first time with my daughter. Snow conditions were very good on piste but unforgiving off it.

Was pretty impressed with the general setup, well prepared pistes, friendly lifties, a lot going on for beginners and intermediates. And there was big air bag/inflatable landing pad on the go too. Is that always there or just setup for half term?

Was a bit surprised that one of the runs was marked as blue as there is a very steep section right in the middle that while short was a pitch that wouldn't be out of place on some red/blacks. My daughter freaked a bit when she came onto it, so had to bring her down side slipping. Very few people seemed to be using it. Between the Osprey and Grouse lifts.

The air bag is there for the Lecht Winter games event this coming weekend. More info here.
