I don’t understand why they placed a fan gun at the bottom of claybokie and one at the top of the baddoch. One gun ain’t enough to make anything useable and I doubt the 2 on the dink dink would either. Surely it’d have been much more productive to put all their guns on the dink dink to try get it open and allow beginners lessons to take place?

Two for Dink Dink could work out, it's not the biggest thing in the world. What I don't understand is the Baddoch, if the snow isn't there, just let people walk to the Claybokie.

Then you can put two guns on claybokie and make a bit more progress there.

Fun thing is that they apperently have listened to the snow-gun questions of glenshee here, and started using them right away :p

There's a new yellow one that maybe a T40 that wasn't there before that popped up on the webcam today.

Reason for the top of the Baddoch and bottom of the Claybokie is that these are problem areas, yet bits that make a huge difference to connectivity around the mountain. This looks like trying to ensure a base to connect around the Cairnwell Cafe for natural snow that is hopefully incoming in the not to distant future.

I can see the Dink Dink on the webcam is already open and there are people using the novice lifts, hopefully more heavy snow will come soon to open up the area.

That’s Glenshee planning to open a limited area tomorrow too thanks to snowmaking.

Been some time they used the Plastic Poma instead of the Baddoch.

You do wonder if they could better lengthen the Claybokie run instead.

I assume thats because it gives them an extra slope for lessons.improvers etc, alongside building a more useful base in low/access areas for natural snowfall?

The plastic is a bit more sheltered than the upper parts of claybokie too which maybe makes snowmaking more reliable. Extending claybokie is probably next.

Still no change from the weekend in terms of open uplift, but piste crew are out working beyond Sunnyside so it is edging closer. Almost enough but not quite at the moment on Sunnyside so the Cairnwell beginner tows, Baddoch Chair and the Butchart's Access Poma.

^Looking over to Sunnyside.

Despite any scepticism, it was a pretty enjoyable afternoon today, has to be said. Decided to take the board out instead of the skis to compensate for the lack of terrain (I’m not very good on a board). Great weather, what snow there was was good and a surprisingly busy hill. Though no queues to be seen.

They’ve made a fair effort opening what they have. But the forecast is against them the next week or so. Fingers crossed I can get more than one afternoon out of my season pass!
