That's pretty poor, but it fits the pattern at CG.

In another life, I'm also a volunteer on a heritage railway (Bala Lake), which runs Santa Specials, it's a small line so we only run them on one weekend a year. For the 2017 specials that weekend co-coincided with significant snow (for the area). Trains ran both days as per the timetable, but due to the road conditions on the Sunday (which were OK in my opinion), only half the booked people turned up. The T&C's say that if the service runs and you can't make it, there are no refunds. That policy was held to, but after discussion amongst the volunteers present most of whom agreed to come back the next weekend, we did offer to run additional trains and honor all unused tickets on those services. Some of those volunteers traveled long distances (me included) to help put on the additional trains so the children weren't disappointed.

If a group of volunteers are prepared to go to those lengths when the weather causes trouble, it saddens me that Cairngorm who are open 7 days a week with all paid staff can't be flexible. It would have cost them very little (perhaps nothing) to reschedule the lesson.

Note, the railway does have some paid staff (3 full time, + part time cafe staff), but not enough to run the Santa trains without volunteers.

Seems true.

The easy way to avoid complaints is to listen to customers.

Yes, it would be a low move to keep this thread alive for purely vicarious thrills... wouldn't it? Then again "rubbish customer service by cairngorm mountain" could become a bellwether thread for snow sports in general, in a what-is-reported-here-demonstrates-the-state-of-the-skiing-industry-in-Scotland type scenario... hmmm. Can we combine it with the Glenshee hates tourers one? Or link them together somehow?

Yes Admin, kill it. Under the rug, with the other nasties.

Surely the *entire* point of Winterhighland is truthful reporting by customers?

It seems (to me) that if a customer had to go "public" to get a complaint addressed then that complaint should remain public.

If we want to eat the official spiel from Cairngorm, and only read the positives, we can go to their website.

Maybe think twice about posting a complaint if you are going to regret it?

Not being a Cairngorm apologist, would it not be appropriate to rename the thread if deleting it would cause suspicion of a cover up?

After all they have resolved the issue to the original complainants satisfaction....

Seeing as you're sticking your oar in and trying to shit stir, I'll comment this once and once only towards you

I didn't have to go public to get my complain addressed, they were dealing with it in the appropriate time frame, I was too quick off the mark and expected it to be dealt with in my time frame, which was wrong

thanks for the patronising comment about regretting posting a complaint, but sadly for you, you're wrong.

Feel free to have the last word, because as we both know, having the last word makes you correct and the winner...
