Too Right.
Honestly, im starting to think they should sell their Sufag guns for £1k each (a bit of a loss) and, with help from a grant, buy a 2nd Snowfactory, with that one producing snow from the top of the chair or a poma to serve the intermediate skiers.
They have by far been the best at proving the technology works.
I feel sorry for Glencoe - yes, they may have met some goals, but they spread out the snow down the uptrack too early (its almost all gone now) and had mechanical problems to deal with, that if had not occurred would have given them a much better shot at providing uplift + sledging.
I've suggested using snow-flex matting under the tow, but it would be a case of laying down a 2ft wide track, then making sure that it gets rolled up propto if large amounts of snow are forecast. There seems to be a snag with every move or idea when it comes to the logistics of operating a ski resort in Scotland!
As for me, well the lure of the current snowsports offerings is not enough to lure me up from the Lake District - its 5 hours drive to Glencoe, 6 to Nevis/Cairngorm and the Lecht.
