Might be time to start another crowdfunding campaign for a bigger slush pup machine on all the sledging forums me thinks.

The new chairlift seems to be a lot further along then I thought. Let's hope that we get some snow so they have the cash to finish it.

What will they do with the plateau poma, as it will be redundant.

Plateau Poma isn't going anywhere. Extra capacity and redundancy in uplift, the lifts are likely to be affected by different wind directions differently so also inevitably days one or other can operate but not both.

I gather it will be run *much* faster in the future as less experienced riders are more likely to use the chair.

Also snow beginning to blow around and drift in. Freezing level will lift to near the rescue shed or maybe above during the heaviest precipitation on Monday - so heavier / slightly wetter snow driven downslope on Storm Force SW winds should get the mid-mountain and the Haggis Trap / Island Rock gully area of the Main Basin quickly moving in the right direction!

Hard to tell from the webcams what's going on up there but does look like there may be some filling in of gullies being done at least. Exposed areas are not holding anything... need this wind to drop a bit, but for the good stuff to keep falling out the skies.

I'd say it's looking pretty promising at the moment. Hopefully more snow to come over the next couple of days too.

Weather looks good for the weekend. What’s the chances of getting cliffy, wall, main basin open on Saturday?

RobC, looking at the summit webcam it looks pretty rocky still, so would be very very surprised if they get the Main Basin T-bar up and running. Then again I guess it depends on what they have available to push around to complete the track.

Saw the basher on the Plateau Poma today, so preparations are under way at least.

The trend in the forecast models is not good with a displaced Azores High parking itself in about the worst location, if it actually ridged further North things would be better under the resultant inversion. However it looks as if from Monday damp mild muck will spill over the top of the high. sad smiley

So if you can get to Glencoe or Nevis Sat or Sun then do it.

Well it’s starting to look a tad more seasonal on the webcams and big clusters of snow showers are building out West. At least things are notes back to square one as they were before the previous cold storm cycle, the bits that need the most snow / are difficult to fill in have a base! Fingers and toes crossed!

Lift off once again for lift served riding, Access Chair, Plateau Poma and Coire Pollach Tow scheduled to run Tuesday. Moderate SW wind, cold at -4 to -5°c at Munro Level, so wrap up well!

Damn these super mild spells have been a shocker for this season, back to square one for glencoe with no uplifts running until further snow arrives.
