With warmer temperatures today, the snow has softened but there are much more extensive thin or bare stretches on all trails. There is still good cover on the Range and Little Range, with sufficient snow to ski out to the Biathlon Way/Classic Start junction and along most of Classic Start itself.

The options for Sunday's HNSC Open Championships are severely constrained. A decision is awaited. If the event does go ahead, the only feasible route will be about 1km in length.

The decision has been taken to cancel Sunday's HNSC Open Championships, due to the deterioration in the remaining snow with warmer temperatures and the likelihood of rain overnight.

This morning there was a fresh dusting of snow but it amounted to only about half a centimetre. This was enough to whiten the trails but insufficient for skiing, other than where residual stretches of snow have survived from a week ago. On the Haute Route, these include 150m at La Glace and 100m just before the Viewpoint. On the Main Drag, remarkably, over 150m has survived on the long uphill before Short Cut, but anyone tempted to come thundering down it should be aware that the runout at the bottom has no cover. Finally, there is over 150m on the level part of the Main Drag before the junction with Classic Start. All the old snow was hard frozen and with limited depth. The Range has lost almost all its old snow, leaving just a narrow strip along the back edge. The forecast is for a chance of snow most days over the next week or so, but whether there will be enough for proper skiing remains to be seen.
