Looking good at the moment.

What is the current status of the groomer fleet?

No sign of the original winch cat or the new bus-groomer.

It’s a new pb100.

The cabin came with a PB100 but can go on either, the PB600 is a more powerful machine and it is the red winchcat. There is a 2nd PB600 winch so they still can winch. Its being used to transport staff / supplies to the Ptarmigan which will hopefully now be open regularly.

Something that has been commented on, over £1m of snow making kit was purchased for the express purpose of allowing the Carpark Tow to provide access to the rest of the mountain for more of the season that would be the case in a normal season. Pretty sure only one gun has worked in the past week near the Fiacaill Pumphouse.

The strategy out to be putting the fences on the Carpark T-bar absolutely out of sight given the depths of snow being reported on Coire Cas.

Who's call is it to operate or not operate the guns when they can? If it is HIE's then it will end up costing more not running them in lost ticket revenue when the Carpark Tow track expires! They are pumping money into CairnGorm to keep the operating company functioning, so it becomes self defeating to penny pinch on the thing that will help bring £££s into the till for longer.

How many resorts are using snowsat and actually making use of it to move snow about to wheres needed?

With the snow falling and winds not light then every resort with space should be farming snow..

[www.youtube.com] If Cairngorm were doing this then the I could excuse them fae having their snowmaking aff.. Glencoe and a few others have the space too and should be trapping more, extend the snow fences in height with buy using spare snow tae trap more, sounds simple enough....

growwild,

Challenge at Glencoe is lifts are starting to get buried, almost at the scenario of having too much snow and no where to put it.

Good problem tae have. Loading the access deep tae the base if it was viable and economical would be good tae get punters up and good for marketing, building whales on the plateau for the summer opening day of the new chair would be media worthy and help keep the poma turning tae get folk that cant be fcked walking to the cliffy up end of season, if it ends!

Last option would be selling surplus tae this lot or trade em a groomer, selling on a public contract tae the big daft spenders would probably earn a few groomers and some.
