About 1cm of snow at the base earlier this evening at Glencoe. Cams should be a bit whiter on Friday morning.

The Access Chairlift reopens for the winter season on Saturday, the Plateau Cafe and adjacent sledge park scheduled to be open. Will be chilly with a stiff NW wind and snow showers on Saturday, so do wrap up well if coming.

Sunday looks to be dry and possibly fairly bright and sunny, though there is a bit of uncertainty as to where the boundary to slightly cloudier conditions to the North will be.

All eyes then on mid-week as a potentially very deep area of low pressure looks possible, this has been on and off various forecast model runs.

Well finally some more snow to report!

Sledge park already starting to look healthier and as the wind veers through West to NW overnight should start to drive snow into the Plateau fence lines. Sleet at carpark level which is quite good news, as temperature is set to rise a degree in the next heavier burst of precipitation and wet sticky snow is what's required given the Storm to Hurricane Force winds due for a time overnight.

Fingers crossed the cameras look healthier in the morning (and are all still there...)!

A tourer grabbing some freshies at the end of the day now the weather has eased back as a ridge of high pressure builds in for Friday.

Plateau Poma and Coire Pollach Tow scheduled to run for lift served snowsports on the Plateau, with windblown fresh snow groomed on the Poma Run and Old Mugs Alley.

Plateau Cafe and Sledge Park will be open, the sledge park is much improved again with new snow on a topped up machine made base from the snow factory.

BUY SKI TICKETS FOR FRIDAY ASAP: [glencoe.skicloud.co.uk] .

Sun trying to make an appearance now at the Coe! All available uplift up and running. There is a small chance of a weather window tomorrow morning behind a very squally front that will come through, but it is a window which has been shrinking and will still be fairly blustery.

But it looks the only realistic hope for lift served sliding in the West until Friday, the good news though is that by Friday there should have been considerable further snowfall in the West. By the start of next week models indicate somewhere from 60cm to over 1metre of snow to fall on West Coast mountains.

^Sun coming out and blue sky above Old Mugs Alley and the Coire Pollach Tow.

^Compare the Main Basin and Happy Valley to the photo a couple of posts up from 10 days ago - what difference a period of storm cycles with decent falls of snow make even with the mild blips that ultimately we need for the base that makes spring riding fantastic!

Glasgow skiers and riders, we’re at the Glasgow Film Theatre on Thursday evening with the 72nd Warren Miller Ski Film WINTER STARTS NOW ! Didn’t really want the title to be apt in February, but hey ho, lets get together and celebrate the belated arrival of winter!

Tix and more dates / venues at: www.warrenmiller.co.uk .
