A93 - end of an era
Date Posted: 06.34hrs on Wed 3 Oct 07
This winter season will be the last time the Bailey Bridge and traffic lights will be needed to climb up the wee section of gorge above the Ericht on the A93 between Blairgowrie and Bridge of Cally

Its only taken 22 years to get round to repairing the road!

My other half will be pleased, and it will take a few mins off the run up to Braemar. - Will the new route cut through the berry fields?

Just as long as they don't remove the Mogul Field further north, which is the bit from Spittal to Cairnwell. - That should have a Preservation Order on it, as it's a great set of bends & bumps.

It must be me, I keep thinking its older than that! Mind you, I still remember the old Devils Elbow. Now that was fun.

When exactly did they get rid of it? Early 70s? Anyone know?

Cheers!
