I reckon that the largest patch in that Glencoe pic will last into August, I'm going to go for 15th August as a melt date, especially with cool weather forecast for a week or 2

Ok, so my guess of the 20th July looks to be a few days out: [www.glencoelive.com], but I don't think I'm out by much. 24th or 25th anyone?!

Also, (and somewhat remarkably), An Teallach still held snow up 'til a few days ago apparently. I'm trying to get this substantiated, but the picture dates from the 13th July at around 1pm.

Had a wander up Aonach Mor last Sunday and took a few pics of the remaining snowfields.

Enough for a madman to break his neck! I'd say (judging from the photograph and memory), 400-500 ft?

I reckon maybe more like 300ft, but you would have to be crazy to try it as there is no run out so you would probably have an unfortunate end on the rocks at the bottom.

Does Easy Gully's snow get any narrower in the section obscured by the gully wall? I still haven't had my July ski.

Like most gullies, it's almost hour glass shaped. There's a narrow section, but it's still very much wide enough to ski down. As Chris has said, though, there's not much in the way of run-off at the bottom. This picture's from a couple of weeks ago: [www.flickr.com]
