The sites great but really needs keeping more up to date. On January 16th do we really need offers for New Year (unless it's 2003/4)

Hi Alan, great site! It frequently helps me with the question of which resort offers the best skiing. Keep up the good work!

Excuse my great ignorance but what does 'lol' mean ?
I've seen it used in forums many time but daren't ask. Thought I'd wait till the end of the season when not many folk are looking.

Alan

I've been critical in the past, but the site is looking superb this year. Everything works and it's damned quick. A well deserved well done.

Hi

I'm travelling from London at Christmas to stay in Aberlour. I am new to the highlands and was wandering of the chances of getting bad snow at that time of year? Does anyone know if the A9 closes at all due to snow in winter? Any other advice would be great. I have a Land Rover, but should I invest in snow chains etc?

many thanks, Gregg

You should expect anything from full on blizzard conditions (hopefully) to mild spring like weather. A Land Rover will cope with pretty much any snow that you will find on Scotlands roads and, unless there is serious drifting or you are venturing off road I don't think you will need snow chains. Yes the A9 closes due to snow quite frequently, not usually because of the amount of snow but due to the quality of driving (or lack of it) in the hazardous conditions. So leave plenty of time to spare if the weather looks fierce and you should expect to see at least one lunatic in a Vectra overtaking in heavy sleet on a blind corner.

Have fun
Andy
