Self Catering Accomodation
Date Posted: 14.56hrs on Mon 8 Feb 10
Can anyone recommend self catering accomodation either in or near Fort William/Glencoe or Aviemore.

I've convicned my mates into not going to the alps for easter so I can show them what Scottish skiing is all about but need accomodation for around 10. Looking for something pretty good as well so don't mind paying up to £2000 for the week (still cheaper than the alps).

Getting accomodation for 10 is proving difficult, especially in the west. So far I have found Ardhu House, The Logs, Mountain View Fort bill, Glenmoidart and Torosay Fort Bill. East is a little easier (having stayed in a few places before).

Anybody stayed anywhere they would recommend?

try Aviemore House. Think it is [www.aviemorehouse.com]

Might already be difficult to get fixed up for easter...good luck anyway.

p.s. If you get it then I'll be round for a wee shot in the hot tub!!

Hot tub is high on the list of priorities stayed in Appin House (behind the Dalfaber golf club) in January and the hot tub was awesome after a days snowboarding! But it's getting quite late on so might struggle to find a hot tub available!

Try Glenmore Lodge - stayed there in a chalet over Xmas holidays when they were 'closed'. You get use of the facilites when they're 'open' but I suppose availability will depend on the courses that are being run that week.

Stayed here last year when fishing the Lochy, nice lodge but maybe not big enough for your requirements:

cmorrison, this is a brave move: "I've convicned my mates into not going to the alps for easter so I can show them what Scottish skiing is all about"

As much as I love what we have to offer and enjoy my time skiing in Scotland, it's shit in comparison. My old dears use the Abernethy lodges outside Nethybridge, but think they're all booked up well in advance.

There are self catered houses for 10 available for rent in Aviemore through Silverglades. Also maybe think about getting two adjacent statics, chalets or lodges -try Dalraddy, High Range or Pinebank in aviemore.
