Christmas Skiing
Date Posted: 22.18hrs on Thu 11 Dec 08
Have just had to cancel my skiing to Les Arcs due to friends personal issues. Gutted. Am travelling up to visit family over the christmas period and was wondering what the chances are off getting any skiing in before Chritstmas. Get up to Scotland on the 21st Dec, then away on Boxing Day. Have emailed all the ski centres but only replies from the Nevis and Cairngorm saying that they hope to open.

What are the realsitic chances????????????

Good luck EastbourneExile. I hope you get a lot of snow in the Highlands for Christmas. It seems to be a very good start of the season in Scotland.

Greetings from the Alps,

Lecht has been open for the last 10 days. Looks like fresh snow as fallen all week on a consolidated base. Public report from Cairngorm yesterday looks fantastic. Glenshee partially open. Heavy snow expected all over tonight & tomorrow. Unfortunately rain is currently predicted for tues but who knows how bad that will turn out. No one even attempts to predict the weather further ahead than that but it is currently looking likely that there will be snow & places will only shut for hol on Xmas day. Check next week. Scotland is quite large - it's a long way from the Lecht to Glencoe! Might limit your options.
