Beginners guide to skinning?
Date Posted: 21.19hrs on Sun 14 Nov 10
Following the stories of some of the adventures people are having non-season time i suddenly feel the need to get kitted out to take to the hills without the assistance of the good old ski lift. So basically i am asking what i should be looking to get kit-wise, also looking to get new twin tips this coming season so was thinking of killing two birds with one stone if possible. Any info will do, i am a complete newbie to this area of skiing although i have been downhill skiing forever.

Also whilst im on the subject, im also looking for a ruc-sac to carry platipus, slr camera, avalanche shovel, avalanche probe, small first aid-kit and most importantly my lunch so any recomendations there would also be super smiling smiley

Don't forget to take a good transceiver !

Have you got the basic kit : touring skis + touring bindings + skins ?
