That's a report for our ski tour in Evolène on Sunday 9th February. The weather wasn't as good as on the Saturday. The forecast was for snow and unfortunately the light was very flat. We had only a morning tour before travelling back to Haute-Savoie, so we decided to skin up to the Alpine pasture of Fourcla on the south side of the valley. After nearly two hours of ascent we discovered that in the highest village there was a guy who lives in this very isolated place all year round with no other access than a ski-touring trip. Very nice views over the Evolène valley.

Tuesday 21st February : On Shrove Tuesday it's possible to ski for free at the Feu ski resort (in the Alpes du Léman area) if you are dressed up. My nephew was a clown, I was a zombie and it was very good fun as the conditions were perfect : light powder snow, sunshine and great views.

On Wednesday 22nd February 2012, I was ski-touring from my doorstep in Le Linage (900 metres) and it was great.

February 24th, Paul Fairbrother from Winterhighland and Helen Morris came to visit me in the French Alps and we had a fantastic day skiing around the Roc d'Enfer (Hell rock) circuit with a very tasty Savoyard cuisine stop at the Embuscade restaurant on the pistes. Sunshine, blue sky, very good snow and excellent company : everything to make a perfect day of skiing / telemarking. That's how life must be !
