I think we need more logs (and more snow, but that might come at the end of the week!)....

It certainly won't come today anyway! Walked out the door in Aberdeen this morning in a t-shirt and believe me, it reminded me (and others) of mornings in tenerife. It is really bizarre! Upsettingly pleasant in a way! Still, not as nice as being blasted by a blizzard. Bring it on!

If anyone wants a laugh I just had a look at Les Arcs and they are experiencing temperatures of 11degrees C at 2040m! The freezing level is 3800metres! HA! Hilarious.

Crazy isn't it? However they do have a consolidated snow pack of 2.5 meters...

Just checked the Cairngorm Webcams, the Ptarmigan looks as if it has a had a wee bit of snow. Visibility is very poor. Could just be very foggy!

Could be time for another log on the fire! Just went for a run up Bennachie (slightly ambitious), blue skies when I left the car park but full on snow storm by the time I got to the top, freezing cold and extremely windy, but great view of snow covered hills to the north east as I was driving there.

Could be time for an afternoon of anticipation by the fire...

are you the Ruth Mottram - studying or studied for PhD at StAndrews ?

If you are, my wife and I both got degrees there around '95-96, and my wife George(ina) (nee Hallam) knows Doug Benn well and Colin Ballantyne - as she assisted them with field-work during various summers.

If not - ignore the above!

we live about 3 miles north of Bennachie, so often up there, biking or running with 2 black labs in tow. Once skied toured on the hill - in 2001 I think.
