There are clearly spies everywhere . . .

Guilty on all counts I'm afraid! - Doug is my supervisor and I went out to Norway with Colin last year, so I know them both very well!

I'm afraid I don 't know you though but I shall be careful to ask around tomorrow winking smiley

I've been hoping for enough cover to tour over Bennachie for ages - must be amazing but I guess it doesn't happen very often, it certainly doesn't seem likely anytime soon sadly as there wasn't anywhere near enough snow today...

successful spying then!

Did you ever come across a Kathryn Goodenough at Edinburgh - shes a geologist- PhD at Edinburgh but keen mountaineer, so you may have bumped into her at some point,

we did the Bennachie tour on x-country skis, its one of the main things that got us to buy tele-kit, as x-country skis werent much good in a metre of soft snow!

Yes I think I know who you mean - I was a student at Edinburgh too (and in the geology department for a while).

Climbing and snowsports in Scotland is such a small community you can never really escape even on the internet - so who is your source? winking smiley

(Incidentally you may have noticed that Doug has been posting on the ice server lately!)

Well we'll just have to keep hoping and snow dancing - and next time I'm up on Bennachie I'll look out for the 2 black labradors...

Have a great trip to Greece!

Ha ha! Hey telemarker - now that telechic's been unmasked, got any embarrassing stories about her you want to share? Banned from SU bar for example? Any late night alcohol-fuelled stunts?

We better stock up on those logs for the fire, we'll need to keep it roaring when the national grid fails and the lights go out in the Met Offices long hard winter of 2006! [grinning smiley]

Glenshee could be in for a bumper season then! [winking smiley]

Could be time to add another log to the fire - it's turning out to be a long, cold (snow-less) winter sad smiley

Is anyone else really bored with the lack of snow?
