Yep, it gets a bit close to the rocks. - It looks to me like he survived to download the video.

Maybe not the biggest "download" he made on the day? - Can safely say I will never possess the necessary skills to attempt this.

Only watched it once and I've never paraglided, but what struck me is that these paragliders must be very manouverable as he seemed to managed to "just miss" an awful lot of hazards.

Anyone here done it? Are they very manouverable or was he just an exceptionally skilled or exceptionally lucky pilot?

Wasn't there a brief fashion for uphill paragliding on skis in Scotland, in the late 80s I think? I never saw it done but I believe there were problems with developing a reliable quick-release mechanism to escape from the kit - as people kept getting dragged over rocks by vicious scottish gusts.

I've got a 3.5m kite, never tried it on snow. I found it pretty hard just tae keep it up, and to keep ma feet on the ground.... It lifted ma mate a fair old height, then dropped him, he smashed his ancle to bits.....

al probaly take it up Glencoe a few times this year, if any of yas want a shot give me a shout, but use it at your own risk, as in any injurys and its nowt tae dae wi me!!

ONe way of avoiding rocks / avalanches on the Flypaper!

I saw the guys kiteboarding up at Glencoe last year too. Looked pretty good but not quite so scarey - they were on the plateau! Saves waiting in the lift queue I suppose.
