Speaking as a vegetarian who cares about "animal rights", I think it's a bit of a straw-man to claim that animal rights cmapaigners would object to wolves killing their prey. I've never met anyone yet who thinks that animals should be banned from inflicting pain on other animals. And aye, I've got a cat, a wee maniac little carnivore she is too, and yeah, she sometimes brings back birds for me. If I objected to that, I wouldn't keep a carnivore as a pet!

You mean like hounds who kill foxes?

blaming a hound for killing a fox is like blaming a bullet for killing a man

Well put William..

Its not natural for a pack of hounds tae chase a fox and rip em tae shreds, or is it?, its posh mans intervention and training and G&T that make em do it...

William, I'm impressed by your well thought out, long post on behalf of the wolves. I don't see any sign of any posts from folk objecting to the idea at all. It would be a sensible and sensitive step in the right direction, helping to heal some of the damage that we have done to this small and vulnerable island that we live on.
Does anyone know how our joint verbal support can actually help move the idea forward?

hey op (its from the vauxhall advert)

i would like to see wolves back aswell it would make the animals of the scottish highland biger stronger and fitter like they used to be, but i draw the line at bears unless they are in estates, woudlnt it be cool to be standing outside your house atnight and hear a wolf howl? yeh it would.farms survive in other countries where wolf inhabit aswell so i think scotlands farms would just have to turn out like canadas and russias and poland ect.

Had a close encounter with a Wild Boar near Alyth on the way home from biking near Braemar today.
No doubt at all about the identity, big, hairy, ugly and not at all impressed to see a human in its woods..!
It had crossed the road in front of the car and I just had to get out to get a better look.

It'd be great to find that there are a few of them out there. I seem to remember that someone photographed a boar near Bridge of Cally recently?
