Sound Problem

Probably not the place to post this but ohh well! When I play any media file on linux you can hear an annoying crackling noise but when you listen to music and watch videos on youtube you don't hear it!! Anyone know why this could be??

what are you using to play the files? tongue sticking out smiley mine done it onco and it was cos the settings on my media player where all mucked up.

play about with your settings. and make sure there are no fones near your speakers that makes mine dodgy

oops, just realised fiona left herself logged on.

Anyway mplayer is a good media player for linux. Youtube probably sounds fine as it uses a flash player.
