Came out 12 feet short of a munro apparently.

[news.bbc.co.uk]

Solution ? metricate the Munros and use 900m instead !

Reminds me of a film I watched recently on TV with Hugh Grant in it.

"The man who went up a hill but came down a mountain"

He played a surveyor who measured a Welsh village's local hill as just under 1000ft. (about 15 feet short I think)

The locals set to piling tonnes and tonnes of soil, rocks and turf to push it over the 'mountain height' of 1000ft. Had it remeasured and confirmed the mountains new status.

Maybe we should suggest a similar solution for Foinaven!! winking smiley

A job for the BTCV or the Munro society. LOL
