Last minute trip to Kitzbuhel. Advice please!
Date Posted: 10.36hrs on Wed 27 Feb 08
Thinking of joining some friends in Kitzbuhel for a weeks boarding this weekend. Not sure if my calculations are right, but its looking like around £530 from glasgow return.

Glasgow London Bus £15
London Stanstead Bus £10
Stanstead Salzburg Flight £65
Salzburg Kitzbuhel Train £20
Kitzbuhel Accommodation (Alpenrider Challet dorm 7 nights) £190
Lift pass approx £135
Return train £20
Return Flight £50
Return Bus £10
Return Bus £15

Obviously this doesnt include sports baggage fees (Ryanair), or food... but for a week all in at short notice I can't see any way to get it cheaper.
Any suggestions?

Also, is there anyone out there at the moment that can recommend a cheaper place to stay?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I've never gone with them but you could try www.fastrackski.co.uk They seem to be offering half board in Kitzbuhel for £440 from London on the 15th March. You would probably have to phone them to see if they had something for this weekend though.

They always seem to have the cheapest deals on ski package holidays but I very rarely book a package hol so dont know how good they are.

Last year a group of us stayed in a hostel in the town, quite central IIRC.

I think it was called Snow bunnies and cost buttons.

It was basic but OK - I have low standards and am usually too drunk to notice much.

Thanks for the replies. Well, snowbunnies was booked up, so I had to go to alpenrider hostel which is more pricey, and not in the main town, but they had a bed!
Fingers crossed now for the snow to fall in large quantities... I'm all booked up to go. £440 all in from glasgow; connection to manchester, flights, connections from salzburg, 5 days lift passes, and 6 nights accomodation.
