Cairngorm pix from around 1990 ?
Date Posted: 23.22hrs on Thu 30 Aug 12
Sorting through some old photo prints I found these from a holiday trip in the Highlands which I guess must have been around 1990. It was a long time before I started skiing so didn't take much notice of the infrastructure around me but it's curious how much has changed and how much hasn't.

The lack of fixed lifting arms on the chairlift pylons suggest its earlier that 90, but it can't be later than 86 with the new Sheiling. All the photos taken same year or trip even?

Same batch of Kodak paper by the looks of things so I assume same trip. It could have been as early as '88 I suppose but I don't think before that as we wouldn't have had a car (or the dough for the petrol). I will have to ask mrs moffatross for her best guess since she was sitting next to me on the chair.

Second photo, we appear to be in a red painted building with double glazed windows ... where could that have been ?

Above post should have read can't have been earlier than 1986! Second photo appears to have been taken from within the phone box by the bottom station (it's still in the same location today).

Santa Claus land; my daughter went there with her mum bitd and it was shocking. I think she held a snake because everything was old or decrepit.
I liked the ice rink. I used to go there on a sat night and watch the curling and ice sports while having a pint.Happy days.
